Tit./80 Kupf., 1682, Paris, Einband : Leder, 12 to, IV/188 S./VI, Zustand : sehr gut, Poggendorf No. : I/1401. Bemerkungen : Neuer Einband im Stil der Zeit. Erklärt geometrische Aufgaben anhand figürlicher Darstellungen. Die erste Ausgabe erschien 1669.

Beautifully illustrated text of geometry and perspective. The delicate etchings represent buildings and landscapes, as well as surveying instruments and operations, and prohlems of perspektive. Engraver, geographical engineer, and professor of perspective at the Academie Royal de Peinture, Le Clerc (1637-1714), following the lead of Jaques Callot and Stefano della Bella, helped to create vignette style so popular in the French book of the following century.
"Unquestionably, Gillot and all the eighteenth-century vignettis owe more to Le Clerc than has yet been apprieciated. For in Le Clerc's many smaller illustrations can already be found prefigured the grace and elegance of the best French rococo."Philip Hofer.
